Co-Founder
Val brings expertise in strategic and operational planning, organizational design, and senior-leader support to his role advising government clients at Xiphos. During his time with Xiphos, he has worked across the defense and intelligence communities, helping clients refine campaign plans, improve organizational processes, and address complex operational challenges.
Prior to joining Xiphos, Val served 29 years as a U.S. Army officer, including commanding an Infantry Battalion in Iraq and an Infantry Brigade Combat Team in Afghanistan. He also served as Director of the Special Operations Command Wargame Center and as Chief of Staff for the 101st Airborne Division’s mission to defeat Ebola in Liberia. His decades of public-sector leadership provide him a unique perspective on campaign planning, interagency coordination, and the Department of War’s acquisition and budgeting processes.
Val holds a Master’s in Advanced Strategic Arts from the U.S. Army War College, a Master’s in Military Arts and Science from the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, and a Bachelor’s in Aviation Management/Flight from Florida Tech.
